Scheduling Your Vasectomy
There are five easy steps to scheduling your vasectomy.
Click on each section below for greater a explanation of each scheduling step.
Step 1. What type of appointment would you like to schedule?
Decide if you want a consultation appointment first or a single visit vasectomy procedure appointment only.
Consultation appointment is to discuss if vasectomy is right for you and address concerns you may have.
Single visit vasectomy procedure is one appointment only for your vasectomy procedure.
Most patients fully understand the purpose of vasectomy and are comfortable making single visit vasectomy procedure appointments. My website is designed to provide you with as much information as possible to educate you about vasectomy before your arrival.
By carefully reading the website you should understand:
Our vasectomy videos are very informative. We created these videos just for our patients. If you take the time to watch all our videos you will have given yourself the an extensive education about vasectomy. To view: Dr. Monteith’s vasectomy educational video series
Over 95% of men choose to come for a single visit vasectomy procedure. Occasionally a consultation visit is recommend for men with certain high risk conditions. For more information: Good reasons to schedule a consultation appointment
Step 2. Complete on-line patient vasectomy registration
The second step to scheduling your vasectomy is to complete our on-line patient vasectomy registration.
During this registration, you will be required to answer a series of health related questions. Registration can be completed in less than 10 minutes. The information you enter will be encrypted and emailed to our office.
The $100 appointment deposit is required for either a consultation or a procedure appointment and it is fully refundable if you cancel your appointment seven (7) calendar days before the procedure.
Step 3. Pay the $100 appointment deposit
The $100 deposit is required to hold your appointment for either your consultation appointment or your single visit vasectomy procedure.
The deposit must be paid on-line by credit or debit card.
Why is the deposit required?
As a result of eliminating the mandatory pre-operative consultation and allowing patients to come for a procedure only, I have made it too easy for a potential vasectomy patient to not honor an appointment to get naked in front of a guy he has never met to have a procedure he is not eagerly anticipating.
The $100 patient deposit is your contribution to match my personal time commitment and my commitment to reducing barriers by requiring potential patients to put some ‘personal skin in the game’ and honor your scheduled appointment. Not keeping your appointment denies another patient the availability to have his procedure on a given day and also leaves me with nothing to do for that block of time.
The $100 deposit is fully refundable if you cancel your appointment seven (7) calendar days before the procedure.
If you don’t cancel or if you cancel within seven (7) calendar days or if you reschedule your appointment within seven (7) calendar days then the $100 deposit is non-refundable.
When you arrive for your appointment then the $100 deposit will be applied towards your insurance deductible or the total cost of the procedure and you will be personally refunded the difference.
Once you submit your deposit you have 90 days to schedule your appointment.
Paying the appointment deposit and scheduling
You only have to register on-line one time.
The $100 refundable appoinment deposit should be paid after you have registered and can be paid by credit card or debit card. The deposit is required before your appointment can be confirmed.
Most patients will choose the single visit vasectomy appointment and will only have to pay the deposit once.
If you chose a consultation visit you will have to pay the $100 refundable deposit a second time before you can schedule your vasectomy visit.
Step 4. Read before vasectomy and after vasectomy instructions. Watch our great videos!
Being properly informed before your vasectomy procedure is critical so your visit can be more efficient, you can adequately prepare for before your vasectomy and can plan your activities after your vasectomy.
We have a comprehensive 9 part educational vasectomy video series. If you watch this entire series of videos you will have the most extensive education we can provide.
